21 Sep 2001 - September 2001 NewsLetter No:1
WELCOME BACK!
I hope you all had an enjoyable holiday, and are looking forward to the new term as we are! Can I take this opportunity to welcome all our new families, as well as Miss Sarah Lunt in Year 1.
In order to improve communication between home and school, we will now send out newsletters monthly, at around the middle of each month. The newsletters will also be numbered so you can keep track of them.

PE KIT
Despite previous request, we still have a number of children who do not have PE kit. Can parents please ensure that a kit is provided, as this problem is disrupting the teaching.
STAFF TRAINING
Can I reassure all parents that whenever a teacher is away, we will always ensure that we employ the best supply teachers available. With so many government initiatives around, teachers are required to spend days out training, keeping up to date with ideas. As far as possible, we try to keep disruption to a mininmum by employing teachers that know the school and our pupils.
DATA COLLECTION SHEETS
The Date Collection Sheets have been sent out; it is important that these are returned as soon as possible so that our records are accurate. We have had incidents where we have been unable to contact parents because we have not been told of changes of telephone numbers, etc.
100% ATTENDACE
Well done to the 13 children, who achieved 100% attendance last term.
SCHOOL DENTIST
The Denist will be in on Friday 28th September to screen the whole school. This happens every year, and parents will be notified by the dental service of any issues relating to their child.
PLAYGROUND SAFETY
Can I remind everyone that dogs should not be brought into the playground.
HELP!!
Are there any green-fingered parents/guardians or grand parents out there who would be willing to help in the new school garden? Just a bit of TLC needed now and again! If you are able to help, please contact school. Many thanks, Carol Bull (Chair of Governors)
