29 Nov 2001 - NEWSLETTER NOVEMBER 2001 (3)
STAFF CHANGES
Miss Greenland has decided to leave us at the end of this term, for personal reasons. Following interviews last week, we have appointed Miss Mia Higman for the spring and summer terms in the first instance. We intend to buy a leaving present for
Miss Greenland: if you would like to make a donation, please send it to the school offices. Due to the demands of the KS1 SATs, we hve decided to switch Miss Lunt to Year2 in January and Miss Higman will teach Year 1. Both teachers will work closley to ensure a smooth transition. This is the earliest opportunity I have had to pass on this news due to the timescales involved in interviewing. I would like to thank the pupils on the school council for their help in the interviews Miss Greenland, Miss Lunt and I are available to answer any questions about Years 1 and 2.
NEW TEACHER FROM DOWN UNDER
As most of you know, Mr Clooke will be on an exchange programme to Australia for the whole of 2002. Mrs Susan Matthews will be joinig us from Australia; Susan is a very experienced teacher and her two children will also start at our school. During the year we hope that Susan will share with us the expertise she has developed in Australia. I am certain the children throughout the school will greatly benefit.

HEALTHY SCHOOLS
We have decided to work towards a Healthy school Award. This is a national scheme designed to encourage everyone linked with schools - parents, pupils, teachers, suppot staff and governors - to think about health. As a start we are using a questionnaire to find out people think at the moment. in order to get a "snapshot" of the school, we have decided to focus on parents and pupils in Years 1,3 and 6 for the questionnaire. The children in those years will complete the form in school; I would be grateful if their parents could complete the parent version and return it to school before 10th December.
WRAP UP WARM FOR WINTER
The school office can now sell fleece hats and scarves. Both items have the school logo on them and cost £3.50.
CHRISTMAS PRODUCTION
This year we have decided to perform a nativity play with the focus on singing. The performances will be in school on Tuesday 18th December at 2pm and 6.30pm. A letter about tickets will go out soon.
CAR PARK
Despite previous requests, parents are still using the school car park and a car belonging to member of staff has been damaged. Can I remind everyone that the car park is for staff only, or for vehicles on school business. The only exception to this is for those cars showing a disabled sticker.
