31 Jan 2003 - Newsletter January 2003 Spring 4
If you have bought new items of school uniform for your child, can you please make sure that their name is on them? Uniform can also be bought from school.
The interactive whiteboard has now been installed in Year 6. This is two weeks later than agreed due to illness. I hope that once we get used to it, children throughout the school will have the chance to experience it.
If your child is in Key Stage 2, they may have told you
about the tests they have done on the computer. At
the moment we are trying out on-line tests that ask
questions appropriate to each individual child. The
tests take about 10-15 minutes for each child; the
answers are uploaded and we can have the results for
a class back within the hour. I intend to try out a variety
of these tests over the next two terms; ultimately I hope
it will allow us to focus our teaching even more on the
needs of individuals and small groups.
Regular attendance goes a long way towards doing well in school. Congratulations to the 22 children who were never late and never away last term
Our School ? Your School!
Did you know that:
We have 9 Class Teachers
We employ 9 Teaching Assistants
The smallest class in school has only 19 pupils
The largest class has 30 pupils
We have 167 pupils in school at the moment
The average class size is just under 24
The school employs 31 people in total
We have a total of 36 computers for use by the children
As you know from the last newsletter, Mrs Rashleigh is leaving us at half term. Mrs Rashleigh has had a huge impact in our school and it is largely thanks to her work that we are fortunate to have so many Teaching Assistants helping our children. If you wish to donate towards a leaving present, please pass your contributions into the school office.
Can I remind parents that your child?s dinner money is due every Monday (£1.30 per day - £6.50 per week) and should be paid to Mrs. Smith or your child's teacher in
a clearly marked envelope.
Two used hypodermic needles have been seen by parents/children on streets near to the school. All pupils have been told not to pick them up. Such incidents should be reported to the City Council on 304750, or to the school, who will then telephone the Council.
