7 Mar 2003 - Newsletter March 2003 (No:6 Spring Term)
Next Friday 14th March is Red Nose Day. To support the event we have made it a non-uniform day; you may like to encourage your child to wear something red and go mad with their hair. To raise money we would like small contributions from each child. In addition, we will be making a trail of silver in the corridor; every child who brings a silver coin can add it to the line.
On Monday we will take delivery of some logs from Saltram Estate. The logs will be placed in the KS2 playground and staked for safety. If the weather is ok on Tuesday, we have appointed some contractors to lay rubber safety surfacing around the logs. Can I sk all parents to ensure that thier child does not climb on the logs befor the rubber safety surface is in place.
Can I remind all parents to give us a ring before 11 a.m. if your child is ill. By doing this we can avoid a situation where children set off for school but don't arrive and no-one realises that something is wrong untill the end of the day.
I would like to welcome Miss Cowan to our School. Miss Cowan has joined us from Ply View Primary and has taken over from Mrs Rashleigh as our new Special Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO). Miss Cowan is also a very experienced Early Years teacher. Can I thank every one who donated towards a leaving present for Mrs Rashleigh; with the money raised we were able to buy some pottery that she collects, as well as some garden vouchers and smaller items.
A huge thank you to everyone who bought tickets for our first Friends of Prince Rock Primary School event, the valentine Discos. Although the idea was, first and foremost, to provide some fun and enterainment for the children in both key stages, it was a great success and helped to raise £100 which will go towards playground improvements.
On the term dates page you will find the school calendar for the year September 2003-September2004. All holidays and non-pupil days have been set.
