If your child is absent, could you please phone Mrs Smith before 10.00 a.m. to let her know. It is very important that parents inform the school if their child is likely to be away.
As many of you will have noticed, we have had some building work completed over the holidays. The Key Stage 1 boys' toilets have been completely refurbished and are now much nicer for the children to use.
Since the start of the term several adults who have been concerned to see some of our pupils crossing the roads in a dangerous manner have contacted me. This seems to be a particular group of KS2 pupils, however, as a result I have spoken to all the children about the safe places to cross. If your child comes to school on their own you may like to speak to them about their route yourselves.
We now have waterproof fleeces in school, which are available to buy for £13.95. The jackets are navy blue with front zips and have the school name and logo embroidered on the front. We have a range of sizes in stock from 24" to 34"chest. Please see Mrs Smith for details.
The outside classroom has now been built in the Key Stage 1 playground. This is for the Reception class to use; it is safe and secure, with rubberised surfacing and a railing around it. The idea is that the children can work and play outside in that area; the new doors allow them to move outside easily. Areas such as these are recommended in the Foundation curriculum and will add a lot to the experiences of our youngest children.
The parents' evenings will take place on 20th and 22nd October. Details will be sent out nearer the time.
