15 Mar 2004 - NEWSLETTER - March 2004

Well, Easter is nearly here and my term as Acting Headteacher is about to end. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Prince Rock and have a number of ideas and routines to take back to my own school. I have been incredibly impressed by the staff, pupils and local community, who have an involvement in the school. As parents, you should be immensely proud of your children and your local school as my overriding memory will be one of a hardworking, happy and supportive place in which to work and learn. I wish all the pupils, staff and parents the best of luck, health and happiness in the future. Martin Hancock
A reminder that the school photographer will be in school on Friday 19th March. Children must wear their school uniform. If you wish to have your pre-school children photographed with their older siblings, you must wait outside the gym at 9.00 a.m.

A POLITE NOTICE: Could parents please note that the office closes at 3.30 precisely. If you have any queries could you please see Mrs Smith before this time. Thank you

The water bottles are now available from the school office, priced £1. See Mrs Smith for an order form.

Governors would like to welcome Paula Luscombe as the new Parent Governor. We still have one parent governor vacancy - if anyone is interested, please contact me, Carol Bull, via the school on 257698. Thank you.

Can we again remind parents that they are not permitted to park in the staff car park at the front of the school. Despite several reminders, a small minority of parents insist on doing this. We are not insured for parents parking here and if this practice continues, it will only be a matter of time before a child gets hurt.

It is with sadness that Miss Pethick will be leaving us at Easter. This has meant some staffing changes. After the Easter holidays, Miss Prothero will be teaching Year 1 on a full-time basis. Miss Cowan will cover the two days a week a in Year 4 currently being taught by Miss Pethick, and Mrs Huxtable will continue to teach Year 4 on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Miss Pethicks time table with Year 6 will be covered by Mr Issitt, who has taught the children on a regular basis. Miss Bearing, our Foundation Teaching Assistant, is also leaving and will be replaced by Mrs Skinner. All at Prince Rock wish the two staff leaving the best of luck in their new ventures.
