28 Feb 2005 - Newsletter
Read all about it!
Have you seen the news?
During February it's been hard to pick up the local papers without seeing something about our school and it's all been good news! We had blanket media coverage for the launch of the East End's smoke free homes campaign and lots more coverage during the week after following the year 6's class assembly and their work on drug education. We've also had articles printed concerning our outside playground developments and our children have been interviewed on local radio and TV. In addition Mr. Clooke seems to be appearing weekly in the sports section for his superb displays for Plymouth's top Hockey team! you will soon be able to see it on display in reception. Well done to all those involved. S. Spry Headteacher

World book day
World book day is on Thursday 3rd March and to celebrate the
event the children will spend the day doing a range of fun activities
around reading and books. We are also inviting children to come to school on that day dressed as their favourite book character. There will be prizes for the best costume.
Fruit
In the November newsletter we printed some numbers showing how many of our children routinely ate fruit for their snack. At the start of November 74 / 185 or 40% of children ate fruit daily. In the middle of February that figure rose to 102 / 181 or 57%. Let's see if we can get this figure up to 70% by the end of the year. Remember it's free to everyone every day!!
