..and thank you!
It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our school cook, Pauline at the end of this term. Pauline has been cooking dinners here at Prince Rock since November 1990 and involved with school meals in the area since 1978. Although the school meals service is run separately by the city council and 'our cook' is not actually employed by the school, we very much see Pauline as one of the staff here and she will be sorely missed. Plymouth City Council's catering department have appointed Claire Bowden to the role and she will be starting straight after Easter.
Mel Baring who works as one of our teaching assistants in Reception is also leaving us again to take up a new post abroad. Mel had a term and a half working in Turkey last year and she's off again to soak up some more sun! Mel will also be greatly missed by everyone here at Prince Rock. Mrs Minter will be taking over as her full time replacement in Reception.
Last but by no means least, Mr. Clooke is leaving us, but not until the end of the summer term. Mr Clooke has gained a promotion to
Old Priory Junior School where he starts in
September. More on Mr. Clookes many years
at Prince Rock in next term's newsletters!
We will be advertising for a new teacher straight
after Easter and we will let you know as soon as
an appointment is made.
Happy Easter! S. Spry Headteacher
We are collecting both the Sainsbury's active kids vouchers and the Tesco computers for school vouchers. Please send any vouchers to your child's class teacher or the school office. Thank you.
Used Stamps
We are collecting used stamps for the Guide dogs for the blind.
Please send all of your old stamps to the school office.
Red Nose Day
Although we kept the day low key we still managed to raise £118 for comic relief, which was absolutely fantastic. Thank you very
much.
School Photographer
This year's school photograph day is Thursday 21st
April. If you would like pre school children to have
their photos taken with their siblings could you please
bring them to the area outside the lower school hall at 9.00am.
Netball
Our school netball team recorded an excellent victory last week
against a local school that?s twice our size. Our mixed team
of boys and girls beat Laira Green 6 - 1. Well done.
Football
On Monday 21st March our boy's football team drew 2-2 with
Leigham in a friendly match. The scorers were Jack and
Josh. And our girls team won by 4-1. The scorers were
Chelsie, Lauren, Jade and Tanith.
Well done and thanks to all the parents who braved the rain at the match
Car Parking
As you will all be aware our school car park is very small and always full. Could you please make sure that you park in one of the local side streets if you need to drive to school.
Survey raffle winners
A big thank you to everybody for returning their school survey
forms. We had the biggest response we've ever had to a school
survey and we'll let you know the outcomes as soon as these are
complied after Easter. The winners of the raffle were Mandy Hart of 4C and Miss O'Prey from Reception. A big thank you for taking the time to share your views with us. We will act on them.
