14 Dec 2005 - Prince Rock Primary School

Champions
With an amazing record of 6 wins out of 6, Prince Rock Primary School?s netball team have been crowned Lipson area league champions for 2005 / 2006. The Evening Herald were on hand to photograph the final match last week as the team clinched the title in style with an 11 - 1 victory over Lipson Vale, one of three schools in the league that are over twice the size of Prince Rock! They are pictured here with their trophy and medals. The victorious team consists of Rhian (captain), Jordan , Nicole , Ria , Dale and Lorna . Bradley , Ayesha and Danielle have also played their part in some matches throughout the season too. This is a fantastic achievement. A big well done to our victorious netball team.

Merry Christmas
The staff, governors and children of Prince Rock would like to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy new year. We are closing at 3.30pm on Friday 16th December and we will welcome the children back to school at 8.50 am on Thursday 5th January 2006. The Breakfast and After school club will start on Thursday 5th
January and will run right through until the end of term.

A day at the Opera
I'm sure all of your children told you about our recent morning working with the
Glyndebourne Opera Company and I?m also sure that a number of you saw the results of your children?s efforts on BBC TV?s Spotlight Programme. What a fantastic experience and what an amazing re working of Cinderella. We are hoping they?ll be back again next year.

Holidays

As you are bombarded with adverts for next
summer?s holidays over the festive period, please remember to try not to book any holidays in term time. If, however, you do need to take your child out of school during term time please obtain a form from Mrs Smith in the school office. Please be aware that permission for holidays will definitely NOT be granted in the week of the school?s annual tests from Monday 8th ? Friday 12th May 2006.

Prince Rock Goes Wild for Sports
Prince Rock Primary School has taken up lots of sports to keep children in the school healthy. They must have about 10 or 11 fantastic sports such as Judo, Football, Hockey, Netball, Cricket, Running, Athletics, Diving, Swimming and Brickfields. They also eat healthy food, like fruit in the morning. The people who made all the arrangements to get the sports are Mr Spry, Headteacher and Miss Evans, PE Co-ordinator. Mr Spry said ?Lots of the staff like sports and we managed to get some extra money to have some extra Clubs?.
