20 May 2006 - Prince Rock Primary School
Prince Rock Primary School has recently been awarded a £5000 awards for all National Lottery grant to develop computer skills in both the school and the Prince Rock Community. We will be using some of the money to buy a portable suite of brand new laptops and some of the money to provide after school clubs and training opportunities for parents and members of the local community. The brilliant news for the children at school is that we will have 15 brand new laptops for classroom use in our infant classrooms by the start of September. More details on the training opportunities for parents and residents to follow in due course!
Year 6 documentary to be shown on the BBC !
Our year 6 children have spent the last 2 weeks working
with journalists, camera crews and broadcasters from the
BBC making a film comparing the local area now to the 1950's. It has been an amazing experience for the children and the results will be shown at the TR2 obstacle race festival on Saturday 3rd June and on BBC Spotlight Programme on
Friday June 2nd. Well done year 6!

Every week various people come to our school to talk to or work with the children. This year we have been asking them to comment on their visit in our school visitors book which we keep at reception. Prince Rock Primary School gains Plymouth?s prestigious ?Inclusion Kite mark?.
Last week a team of Local Authority officials and senior teachers from schools across the city visited our school to talk to a sample of parents, staff and children of Prince Rock Primary School to see if we really do everything possible for all the children in our care. The team were glowing in their praise of the school and unanimously recommended that we be officially recognised as a genuinely inclusive school. This is another fantastic achievement for Prince Rock Primary School and one we should be truly proud of. Well done and thank you to everyone involved.
