20 Jul 2006 - Prince Rock Primary School
The School's main entrance gets a make overAfter months of planning, the school council, one of our parents, Creative Partnerships and our year 5 children have worked together to start to make a real difference to our main school entrance. The flower bed art work has now been painted and the benches are in place. The mural for the wall above the benches will be fixed soon and the area should be much more attractive to look at as you approach the school. The main school office is next, and by the time you return after the holidays this should be looking much better too.
It's Picnic time tomorrow
Tomorrow, Friday 21st July, we are all off to Saltram for our annual picnic. We are hoping for a nice day and the weather forecast is looking good. The children can wear mufti, but please make sure their clothing is sensible and appropriate for the weather. Please also make sure they have sensible footwear as it is a long way to walk. Here's hoping for a great day!
And it's nearly holiday time
We finish the summer term at 3.30pm, next Wednesday 26th July. The children return to school at 8.50am on Wednesday 6th September. We hope you all have a fantastic summer holiday. Enjoy

A new school uniform
We have ordered some new school uniform which will be on sale from
the very beginning of next term.
We are using a different supplier and the uniform is almost exactly the same apart from a newly embroidered logo. It will cost roughly the same as it does now. We still have a little bit of our current uniform left which we will be selling off at half price until we run out.
The school uniform shop is open from8.50am. to 9.00am every day and at 3.30pm, to 3.45 on a Monday.
Lost property
and old P.E. kit
On Monday 24th July we will be displaying all our current lost property in the school playground under the veranda from 3.15 pm. Anything unclaimed after this will either be sold off, thrown away or used for spare kit in school. If you can't come in to see the lost property next Monday, please try to get in to see it before the end of term. Mrs Smith in reception will be more than happy to help.
New girls toilets
Over the summer our infant girls toilets are being refurbished. The children have
chosen the colour scheme for the walls, flooring and doors themselves. We will soon see the results of their pink and purple colour experiment!!!!
MTA vacancy
We currently have a vacancy for a meal time assistant / lunchtime play worker from September. If you are interested in the post please write to Mr. Wallace at the school by 3.30 pm on Monday 24th July. Sorry for the short notice but we need to appoint by the end of term.
Phone numbers
Please keep Mrs Smith in the school office informed of any changes of phone numbers, especially mobiles. We are finding that lots of our numbers are now out of date. Thank you.
Dinner Money
Can you please settle all outstanding school dinner money bills with Mrs Smith
in the school office by Monday 24th July. Could we also remind you
that dinner money must be paid on the first day of the week that the
children are in school and no later.
Leavers assembly, party and final goodbye!
Next Tuesday we are hosting the annual leavers assembly and party. Following this on Wednesday they leave us for the last time. You've been a great class. Good bye and good luck.
