26 Nov 2006 - Prince Rock Primary School
In the true spirit of the fast approaching Christmas season, the children of Prince Rock Primary School have surpassed themselves in their charity fundraising efforts!
Last weeks Children in Need mufti made an amazing £125.83 and the disco raised a further £120.00 . In addition we have finally added up the total amount that we raised last year for CLIC and Guide Dogs for the Blind. This came to an amazing £660.00 and we will be handing over 2 big cheques at a special assembly on the morning of Tuesday 12th December when 2 guide dog training puppies will be visiting the school to say thank you to all the children for their amazing hard work.
we receive ...
We have recently received some fantastic news about a successful bid that we submitted to the Woolworth's Playground Partnerships fund. The staff and children put together a superb bid for funds to help us to improve our playground and we have just found out that we have been awarded £5000. 00 to spend on improving our facilities. Well done!
? and we win!
Two weeks ago our boys and girls cross country teams took part in the annual Plymouth championships at Staddiscombe. Our boys team came 5th, our girls team came 3rd, but in the individual event, Jamie from year 6 came 1st out of almost 100 runners. Well done to all the runners in both teams and a special well done to Jamie.

Parking
We are still having lots of
problems with various staff, visitors, taxis and parents getting blocked in our car park at the beginning and the end of the school day. There is currently too much traffic using the entrance which is making it really unsafe for pedestrians outside the school. Please park elsewhere unless it?s a really genuine emergency.
Football
On Friday 10th November our boys and girls teams played matches against Mr. Clooke?s Old Priory Junior School. The boys managed to miss 72 chances before eventually losing 1-0. The girls too made a very impressive start before eventually losing 3 ? 1. Well done to all of the children who played.
Netball
Our netball team continued their winning ways with an 8 ? 0 win over Plym View Primary School. The defence of the league title could still be on!

Christmas tickets
This years Christmas performance is ?Twas the night before Christmas?.
The shows will take place on Tuesday 12th December at 2.00pm and on Wednesday 13th December at 2.00pm and 6.00pm. Tickets will be available from Mrs Smith from Monday 4th December at 3.15 on a first come first served basis. In previous years there has been a high demand for the evening performance tickets. After much discussion with staff we have decided to continue with one evening performance and two afternoon performances. We feel that two late evenings is too tiring for the children, especially the younger ones. Most other schools will
only put on their shows during school hours. Thank you for your
understanding in this matter and we hope you enjoy the show.
Class assemblies
After the Christmas holidays we will begin our class assemblies again on Friday mornings in the upstairs hall. You are welcome to join us. The dates are as follows ?
Friday 19th January ? year 6 Friday 2nd March ? year 3
Friday 26th January ? year 4 Friday 9th March ? year 1
Friday 2nd February ? year 2 Friday 16th March ? year R
