28 Jan 2007 - Prince Rock Primary School
OFSTED have finally been and we await news?.Last Thursday and Friday Prince Rock Primary School had a surprise 2 day visit from OFSTED. We only received 2 ½ days warning and so they saw us doing exactly what we normally do! Sometime during the next couple of weeks they will publish their findings and send a summary letter to you and the children. We believe the 2 days went well. The children were superb, as they always are, and we felt that during their short visit they should have gained a good understanding of what Prince Rock Primary School is all about. We will soon find out what they thought. Watch this space for more details.
Champions??
Last weeks our mixed boys and girls netball team took part in the annual Plymouth championships at the Mayflower. In our first round matches we won our three games and in the second round we won four and drew one to make the semi finals of the competition. We lost our semi final and then the third / fourth place play off to finish a very respectable fourth place out seventy six. Next week we are playing our final league match against the currently unbeaten Highfield Primary. If we win that game we will retain the league trophy we won for the first time last year. Well done and good luck for the final match of the season.

Parking
We are still having lots of
problems with various staff, visitors, taxis and parents getting blocked in our car park at the beginning and the end of the school day. There is currently too much traffic using the entrance which is making it really unsafe for pedestrians outside the school. Please park elsewhere unless it?s a really genuine emergency.
Football
Last week our boys and team played 3 matches in a city wide tournament. The team played superbly and were unbeaten throughout. We beat St Josephs and Wembury and we drew with Estover. . Unfortunately however, although we didn?t lose we came second on goal difference. Well done to all of the children who played.
Class assemblies
Earlier this term we re commenced our class assemblies again on Friday mornings in the upstairs hall. You are very welcome to join us. The dates are as follows ?

From time to time we refer children to our school nurse, Val Garland. However she is

The school uniform shop is open on MONDAY?S ONLY AT 3.20PM ? 3.45PM. If you would rather order your uniform please get an order form from the school office and Mrs Jobe or Mrs Whitney will sort it out for you. Please note that water bottles now cost £1.20.
Spare / cover Meal Time Assistant vacancies
We currently have vacancies for temporary cover meal time assistants / lunchtime play workers. If you are available to fill in and cover lunchtimes at short notice could you please let Mrs Smith or Mr. Wallace know a.s.a.p.
Dolls house
Miss Evans is currently trying to collect dolls and dolls house furniture for her year 1 classroom. If you can help please see Miss Evans.
