21 Feb 2007 - Newsletter

A good school with an outstanding netball team!
In our January newsletter we told you about Ofsted?s recent visit to our school, however at the time we hadn?t seen their written report outlining their findings. Hopefully you all got a copy of both their report and the letter they wrote to the children just before we broke up for half term. The inspection went well and they discovered exactly what we have known for sometime to be the case:-
?Prince Rock Primary School is a good school.?
We also told you about the recent exploits of our netball team and the final crunch match against Highfield Primary to decide the league title. We won the game in some style and we were crowned league
champions for the second year in a row. The team are pictured below.

Free Computer sessions for children and parents
After school on Wednesday evenings we are currently running open sessions for children and parents to develop various skills on the computer. We are doing various things like using the internet, e ? mailing, using digital photography etc. We still have some spaces left so if you interested please see Mrs Jobe or Mrs Smith in the school office.

Parking
We are still having lots of
problems with various staff, visitors, taxis and parents getting blocked in our car park at the beginning and the end of the school day. There is currently too much traffic using the entrance which is making it really unsafe for pedestrians outside the school. Please park elsewhere unless it?s a really genuine emergency.

Food, glorious food

We have been recently been given a space at the new East End allotments on Embankment Road and we would like to start growing some seeds to plant out later in the year. If you have any seeds, seed trays, small plant pots etc could you please send them in to Mrs Smith in the school office. We are also doing some work looking generally at food so we would also appreciate any old food magazines too. Thank you

Parent Governor Vacancy

We still have a vacancy for a parent governor. If you have any interest in this vital role in the future development of the school please see Mr. Spry for more details

Book fair
Our book fair is currently taking place in the school canteen every morning before and after school . Please come along and have a look at the books we have on offer. The more books we sell the more free books we get for the school!

Packed lunches
If your child has a pack lunch could you please send them in with a spoon in their pack lunch boxes for things like yogurts. Thank you.

There was a young pig called gin
Who had a jammy pig on a bin
They had a fast race
From place to place
And the jammy pig would always win.

She?d play in her room be a witch on a broomAnd play with her water gun.
