Mr. Wallace!!
After 6 very successful years as Deputy Headteacher at Prince Rock Primary School, Mr. Wallace is leaving us next week to take up his new job as Headteacher of College Road Primary School, Keyham.
During his time at Prince Rock Mr.Wallace has been instrumental in moving the school forward and he was key to the school's recent successful Ofsted. In addition to his exceptional teaching in year 6 and development of the schools Literacy work, Mr. Wallace has also been responsible, amongst other things, for the development of the school grounds, the cricket teams, the successful home-school books and the best run of school test results Prince Rock has ever seen.
On behalf of everyone at Prince Rock Primary School I would like to thank Mr. Wallace for all his hard work and commitment to the school and wish him good luck in his new job. I'd also like to say goodbye and good luck to all our yr 6?'s.
Prince Rock recognised for excellence in Art
Last week Prince Rock Primary School collected a prestigious charter mark at a local award ceremony in Tavistock in recognition of the fantastic range of music, art, dance and creative art work undertaken by the school. Miss Cowan, our arts co-ordinator, collected the award along with pupils Caleisha and Gerard. Well done!!!
Happy summer holidays
On behalf of everyone at Prince Rock Primary School I hope you have a great summer and I look forward to seeing you all safely back next year. Don't forget Prince Rock Primary School closes for the summer holidays at 3.30 (4.30 for after school club) on Wednesday 25th July and opens at 8.50 (7.50 for breakfast club) on Tuesday 4th September.

New staffing for next year
From September we will be welcoming the following new/additional staff:-
Miss Cheryl Brake - new full time year 6 teacher and Deputy Head
Mrs Lucy Hanley - 1 day infant PPA cover teacher on Tuesdays
Miss Emma Channon - new full time TA
Also Mr Issitt wil now be working with us in various roles for 2 ½ days per week
Bowling at Tenpin
For sometime now our friends at Tenpin on the Barbican have been supplying us with free bowling vouchers as prizes for the 'good lunchtime behaviour award' termly prize draw that many of your children have won at some time in the past. During this summer holiday Tenpin are running a special Wednesday 10.00 -2.00 event as well as their usual selection of offers. They are still doing their bowling and a burger for a fiver offer, as usual, although they didn't have enough cards for to give to everyone at the school.
The playground
Earlier this week year R and year 1 finally helped us to open our new playground area. Although not fully finished, hopefully you can already see what a huge improvement it is on the rather unpleasant space that was there before. Over the summer the water feature will be properly finished and the whole area will be resurfaced. Then from September the children will be managing the area themselves, choosing and planting out the garden areas, treating the wood and generally taking care of their new outdoor space. Enjoy!
Fingers crossed for a sunny Friday at Saltram
This Friday we are hoping to enjoy our annual school picnic at Saltram. The children will need to bring a packed lunch unless they are entitled to a free school meal. They do not need to wear uniform but they will need sensible footwear and appropriate clothing for the weather Let?s keep our fingers crossed for some sun. This summer?s continuous rain has already totally written off our 2 sports days and cut short our fun day at Blagdons meadow and the infant beach trip to Wembury. Fingers crossed!!!!.
